Risk Management and Grid Procedures Management

Risk management and Grid Procedures Managment involve activities that aim to identify and address vulnerabilities, being in the documents compliance reviews, audits or monitoring of the critical analysis of the processes involved. Thus enables the continuous improvement of the technical processes conducted by ONS, making them more robust and efficient.

In 2014, the risk management area, in partnership with the technical and legal areas, participated in four inspections processes of SFE / ANEEL, in the answers of six Notification Terms and five Violation Notices. In addition, work continued on the external audit process of PMO input data and revisions and generation of data compiled by CNOS. These activities were aimed at the identification and preventive action in relation to vulnerabilities in the search for synergy between different areas in proposing solutions.

As for the Grid Procedures Managment, in 2014 contributions received from ANEEL on the revised versions in 2013 by ONS, with the participation of agents and associations were analyzed. The new resulting versions from this analysis that incorporate adjustments to regulations issued in the period, will be subject to public hearings by ANEEL in the first and second halves of 2015, which comes into force later this year.

Concerning the Grid Procedures Management, modeling and process analysis, with the following objectives were carried out: the introduction of intrinsic improvements, development or implementation of information systems and the implementation of new forms of work organization. In 2014, actions were undertaken focusing on the following processes:

  • Operation and Maintenance of Supervision and Control System – SSC;
  • Preparation of Expansions and Reinforcements Plan;
  • Integration of New Facilities; and
  • Preparation of Daily Operation Report – RDO.

In addition to these works, actions were taken aimed at internal dissemination of knowledge related to the theme, with lectures on Process Management and creating a workspace on the intranet. The definition and prioritization of mitigating actions has allowed to improve the monitoring tools of the degree of ONS exposure in front of the vulnerabilities.
