The ONS has been participating in major events sponsored by CIER. In this context, we highlight the 48th Meeting of Senior Executives of CIER, held in November in Rio de Janeiro, organized by the Brazilian Committee of CIER - BRACIER. On the occasion the General Director of ONS Hermes Chipp, in his farewell as President of CIER, delivered the note lecture of the event addressing the issue of energy and a vision of the challenges and opportunities for Latin America.

In his speech at the end of the second and final year in office as President of CIER, the General Director of ONS highlighted the ongoing search for the integration of Latin America, stressing that the physical integration of systems involves decision that should reflect the political will of countries.

As the Brazilian representative in the Working Group of Market Administrators and Operators, the ONS follows actively participating on the Operation Subgroup consisting of the main operators in Latin America. In this context, it is noteworthy the participation in the development of the Project SIGER / Atlas, which aims to develop a management data system for regional energy integration and regional georeferenced geographic atlas, and Project Refereciamento of Operators in Latin America, which aim to know the best practices of operation and, thus, seek continuous improvement of processes.
