Definition of Improvement in the areas of Restoration Fluent and Coordinated Restoration of BIPS

Fluent restoration is a procedure that minimizes the downtime of the power system loads in an agile, simultaneous and independent way. It can be performed by operators of substations, usually without interference from operation centers, with minimal communication and in accordance with procedures previously defined in studies.

The ONS, together with the agents, has set and keeps updated corridors of fluent restoration to restore the major load centers in the country. Throughout 2013, it completed the analysis for the North region to meet the Metropolitan Region of Manaus by Tucuruí plant and the 500 kV interconnection Tucuruı / Manaus / Macapa.

Additionally, alternative procedures to fluent recomposition for meeting the priority loads in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul are being analyzed.

In order to expedite the fluent recomposition of southwest and west areas of the Northeast region, a new feature of self-healing (black-start) is being implemented in Sobradinho plant.

To improve services to stadiums and airports of the host cities of the games of the 2014 World Cup, are in the process of implementing new procedures of fluent recomposition for the capital cities: Porto Alegre, Curitiba, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasília , Cuiabá, Manaus, Recife, Salvador, Natal and Fortaleza.
