CCriteria and procedures for performing functional tests on Special Protection Systems (SEPs) installed in BIPS were defined in 2012, to ensure its proper performance.

Based on these definitions, tests in 20 SEPs installed in various areas of the system were performed. For each test a report was generated containing a brief description of the SEP, its purpose, the tests performed, the abnormalities eventually encountered and the measures taken.

In addition, an annual report of SEPs tests was elaborated, consolidating in one document all 40 tests conducted during 2013. This practice will be extended to all BIPS from the coming years through a previous scheduling of performance testing .
