The Teles Pires hydroelectric plant, located on the Teles Pires River, on the border of Mato Grosso and Pará states in the municipalities of Paranaíta and Jacareacanga, respectively, is part of all the hydroelectric basin of the rivers Teles Pires and Apiacás, which consists of Colider plants (300 MW), Sinop (400 MW), São Manoel (700 MW) and Foz do Apiacás (230 MW). These plants will be integrated into the BIPS by a 500 kV transmission system, which will connect the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás and Minas Gerais.
In a first stage, the transmission systemis planned to be concludedby meansof two 500 kV circuits, which will allow the flow of the generation produced by Teles Pires.
A temporary solution that will allow transmission on power plant and the flow of the energy generated was adopted to deal with the scenario where the transmission system is incomplete. This temporary solution will link this plant to the BIPS, in a 500 kV single circuit, in the Sinop substation and for this, a 500/230 kV - 400 MVA autotransformer bank will be installed, also temporarily, originally intended to reinforce the substation Ribeirãozinho.
Pre-operational studies have been conducted considering various aspects such as electromagnetic transients, steady state, dynamic regime and power frequency maneuvers, in order to meet the start-up in temporary connection, and in the final configuration, both scheduled to happen over the course of2015.
