Management of BIPS Electro-energetic Availability

The unfavorable hydrological conditions prevailing throughout the year in the regions where the largest energy storage capacity of BIPSare, demanded ONS’s careful management of available energy in order to preserve the stored energy stocks in bedside reservoirs, ensure the thermoelectric park’s full availability and use the power exchanges to take advantage of existing availability in the Northern and Southern regions. Another highlight of the year was the easing of hydraulic andmultiple use of waterconstraints, necessary to ensure securing energy supply.

Several preparatory studies, prepared over four years, covered from the diagnosis of the situation of each company until the operative measures to ensure compliance to different safety standards. The realization of the event without any noteworthy incident showed the management capacity of all stakeholdersinvolved. In each match, ONS published Special Reports describing in detail the evolution of load curves and conditions of service.
